It was absolute "Mayhem" at Machan's Beach today. This lovely cafe is in Machan's, within sight of the seafront. It wasn't actually Mayhem, it was delightful. The name of the cafe is "Mayhem at Machan's" We popped in for breakfast, and I have to say it is absolutely beautiful. Pictured here is the Bagan and egg burger, for which of course I opted to have the hash brown added. Suffice to say it was demolished in moments On the right is a weekly special, a Scottish Square sausage on a milk bun with HP sauce. It was also remarkable, it was also devoured in the blink of an eye. The flat white art was also charming. Japan -pan, man Absolutely cracking spot for some delicious Japanese style baked goods. Too many things to mention, just know that you're in for a treat Located on Mulgrave Rd, this delightful little store will amaze with the variety of good things to eat. The Curry pan (deep fried bread filled with Japanese curry) is absolutely divine. Ittadakimasu!

AMO house & catering is finally open and was worth the wait. Located on Spence Street in the old Haru building (RIP Haru, still miss you) they are open for breakfast and lunch every day except Sunday. The breakfast was amazing! Tiger prawn omelette - spicy, seafoody and chonky focaccia. This bread was THICC. AMO crepes - filled with ricotta, topped with hazelnut praline and lots of maple syrup. Ice cream is optional. (Get the ice cream, you know you want to) Eggs Benedict - on top of that delicious AMO focaccia. Coffee - code black beans, nice and strong AMO Egg drop toastie - as advertised on the box, the best. This vertical creation is made up of scrambled eggs, bacon, avo and sweet & spicy mayo dropped into a chunk of garlic buttered brioche. YUM. In summary, great food and presentation, friendly staff and a nice ambience. Will be back to try the souffle hotcake and deep fried ice cream. Bread and dips by any name is going to be delicious. I cannot for the life ofe remember the name of any of these dishes, but the flavour will live on forever in my mind. We started with an eggplant dip with a great Smokey flavour, with some absolutely wonderful light fluffy pita 🫓 Then we hit the lamb, with a lamb "pizza" and lamb dumplings. The names sound a lot more exotic, but I won't do a disservice by attempting. They have an option called "leave it to us" and you get a set meal of all they offer.
